Part 1
Space Hulk: Deathwing – end of the technical beta and 13 minutes of uncut gameplay
Space Hulk: Deathwing, the upcoming first-person shooter set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, just ended its Technical Beta. Tens of thousands of players got their hands on the multiplayer co-op mode of the game – in the span of a few days, several millions of Genestealers were purged though relentless assaults led by players who were enthralled by spectacular co-op gameplay served in an immersive rendering of this much-loved setting. The Beta has helped settle several gameplay adjustments and technical tweaks that the development team has already started to tackle tirelessly. Feedback from the community and players has proven invaluable for the teams at Streum On studio and Focus Home Interactive, who are now putting all their efforts into offering the best possible experience for players when the game releases. To make the wait until release more bearable, here are 13 minutes of uncut gameplay footage from the single-player campaign. A new Xenos threat has risen from the depths of the Space Hulk. Your Deathwing squad must purge this newly discovered strain, which resembles the Ymgarl Genestealers. These creatures are even more cunning, tough and lethal than regular Genestealers, and their presence on the Space Hulk Olethros remains a mystery. The Psygate, a psychic bridgehead established by the Librarian, enables the Librarian to change equipment and Psychic powers during missions. This allows them adapt to various encounters while exploring the Space Hulk. Squad mates’ loadouts can be also be swapped using the same ability. For example, equipping them with shields and war hammers will transform your squad into a particularly strong and hard hitting force. But, of course, with this setup, your companions won’t be able to deal damage from a distance or heal teammates. Pre-order now on Steam to get 15% off and one in-game weapon – the Lost Mace of Corswain. Space Hulk: Deathwing is available for download on PC, December 9 before landing on consoles in early 2017. |
