Dreadnought Playable for Attendees at Gamescom 2016 Grey Box, Six Foot and developer Yager have announced that Dreadnought, the highly anticipated class-based space-action game, will be playable at gamescom next week. Currently in closed beta on Windows PC, attendees can experience the game’s 5v5 Team Deathmatch mode on an all-new map, Red Sands, and chat with members of Yager’s development team on the show floor at Stand B31 in Hall 8 in a booth modeled after a Monarch-class Heavy Dreadnought. Dreadnought is constantly evolving, and as such, the team is excited to reveal that an all-new game mode, Onslaught, will be coming to the online multiplayer game later this year. Onslaught Mode lends a new dimension to the game’s established, tactical 5v5 combat with epic, 8v8 battles. It adds small and midsize AI-controlled ships to the mix that players can destroy for points. Onslaught Mode will be playable for the very first time behind closed doors for media at gamescom. Additionally, the developers are hard at work revamping Dreadnought’s in-game progression system based on player feedback. A major update coming this fall streamlines the process of acquiring ships, modules and customization options to match players’ unique play styles with new tech trees and ship manufacturing tiers. More information on progression changes and the future of the game will be available from the developers at the show. Dreadnought puts players in command of massive capital ships for heart-pounding tactical warfare in space and across the skies of different planets. As mercenary captains armed with earth-shattering weapons and unique strategic and support abilities, players must work together to outsmart and outgun the enemy team and reap the rewards of battle. Powered by Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4 (UE4) technology, Dreadnought lets players feel the full weight and power of each warship in beautiful detail. It will launch in the future as a free-to-play title on PC.
