League of Legends developer Riot Games is making a tactical shooter Riot Games is working on a new tactical shooter. The game, which is currently known only as Project A, was announced during the developer’s League of Legends 10th anniversary livestream. Project A will be a character-based tactical shooter, according to Riot, which sounds like it would land it somewhere between games like Overwatch and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Characters will have unique abilities along with the guns and weapons you would expect from a shooter. It’s unclear what the objectives might be like in-game, or how many players will be on each team. It seems like the focus of Project A will be on competitive multiplayer modes. The world of Project A isn’t based in the League of Legends universe. The game’s world appears to be realistic and set on Earth. There weren’t many extra story details from Riot’s stream, but it does appear that the art style for the game will also move away from League of Legends’ more fantastical graphics. There’s no word yet on when Project A will be released, but Riot said that it was looking at 2020, with a beta happening early in the year.
