505 Games purchases Ghostrunner IP from All in! Games for 5M euros
The video game publishing and production company All in! Games has sold the IP of Ghostrunner, one of the most anticipated games of 2020, to its co-publisher 505 Games for 5 million euros. Nevertheless, the Polish company, which is listed on the stock exchange in Warsaw, retained the right to participate in the profits generated by the game. “When All in! Games was acquiring the IP of the game, 505 Games was also interested in the purchase, but in the initial stage of our cooperation we could not arrive to a mutually beneficial agreement. Ghostrunner quickly turned out to be a huge success, which convinced them to submit an offer – one of those “hard to refuse”. This transaction shows that the strategy we adopted was correct. The 5 million euros gained through the sale, which will go exclusively to our company, will allow us to speed up our development processes,” says Piotr Żygadło, CEO of All in! Games. Ghostrunner was released on October 27, 2020. The production costs, amounting to 2,5 million euros, were covered on the day of the premiere and the title received very good reviews from users (91% out of 16 thousand reviews on Steam were positive) and the media (an average score of 81/100 out of 64 reviews). As part of the agreement, 505 Games has acquired exclusive intellectual property rights to the Ghostrunner title and all licenses for the technological solutions used in the game. All in! Games will retain the right to participate in Ghostrunner’s profits on the terms set out in the publishing agreement signed on June 8, 2020.“This is another very important step in the development of All in! Games and we are satisfied with the direction we are heading. According to the estimates which have already been published, Ghostrunner sold half a million copies by the end of 2020, and we believe that in 2021, this number will increase by at least one million. Recently, we also released Paradise Lost, which sold over 12 thousand copies within its first four days and is on track to becoming the second-largest title in our portfolio. The game is moving up in the Global Bestsellers ranking and has received 78% positive reviews on Steam,” Piotr Żygadło added. All in! Games recently announced their release calendar for 2021, which includes as many as 20 games, including the highly anticipated Chernobylite, Alaloth: Champions of the Four Kingdoms, and War Mongrels. It also features three DLCs for Ghostrunner (one of which will almost double the game’s playing time) and the next-gen version of the cyberpunk production. |
